Collective Streaming-Enabling Apps

The Netflix Party App Helps Friends in Self-isolation

The Netflix Party app is a much-needed solution in times when the responsible thing to do is self-isolate. As the COVID-19 crisis is of major concern, many have remained indoors and are unable to enjoy the social experience of large gatherings. Technology, however, has allowed us to easily communicate with one another and now, it will also allow users to have a seamless experience of watching movies collectively, while they remain in self-isolation.

The Netflix Party app is a Google Chrome extension. It allows a group of people to watch the same show or movie at the same time by working to synchronize video playback. That means that if someone pauses the video, for example, the stream pauses for everyone in the 'party.'
