Commercial espresso machines are often costly and typical coffee makers usually offer only one-note brews, but changing that is the Nescafe Alegria, an affordable coffee maker that allows small businesses in Europe to make specialty drinks for customers without having to invest in larger scale appliances.
The Nescafe Alegria features a small and practical design and gives small businesses -- with fewer than 10 employees -- the opportunity to offer their customers specialty coffee beverages such as cappuccinos, lattes and macchiatos at the push of a button. The Nescafe Alegria uses only one cartridge that contains enough coffee (115 g) to make 40 cups of cappuccino or 120 cups of espresso and because it steams milk using a hot water jet at the top, no milk passes through the device, which ensures easy cleaning.
According to Michiel Kernkamp, Head of Beverages of Nestle Professional, "The days of a plain black coffee are over. Consumers want something more complex. It’s an advantage for small businesses like hairdressers, florists or car dealerships to be able to offer their clients a latte macchiato or cappuccino at the touch of a button."
