Enhanced Chinese Dairy

Dairy Scientists Across China are Partnering with Industry to Boost Quality

Dairy products are essential for a balanced diet, and China's National Centre of Technology Innovation for Dairy (NCTID), established by Yili Group, is at the forefront of improving their quality and sustainability.

Yili Group, Asia's largest dairy company, leads this effort with 15 global innovation centers and over 600 researchers. The brand has developed over 100 proprietary technologies and hold 4,348 patents. NCTID focuses on high-yield dairy cattle breeding, low-carbon farming, high-value ingredients, and innovative processes.

A key innovation is encapsulation technology for probiotics, enhancing their viability in dairy products using a water-in-oil-in-water emulsion. This ensures probiotics survive processing and storage. These innovations improve product quality, including lactose-free and enhanced probiotic options.

Yili is also advancing dairy cattle breeding through stem cells and gene editing for higher productivity and disease resistance.
