In honor of the upcoming NBA All-Star weekend hosted this year in Toronto, Twitter has put together a series of emojis designed exclusively for the game that feature faces of well-known and celebrity players as well as team emblems and other symbols popularized by the games.
The emojis are exclusive to Twitter and allow fans of the sport to communicate using visual emoticons that encompass the various well-known attributes of the players on both West and East coast teams. The emojis are activated when Twitter users type in specific hashtags. For example, typing out #stephcurry sends an emoji of the Warrior's player's face and #draymondgreen pops up a pulsating bicep with the number 23 printed on it. The emojis offer a new way to communicate using visuals on the highly text-oriented social media.
