This Cheeky Google Doodle Celebrates the NASA Mars Announcement

This special edition of the Google Doodle celebrates the much-anticipated NASA Mars announcement.

In a special press release, NASA recently revealed that it was aware of the presence of liquid water seasonally appearing on the red planet, flowing across its surface. Although the water is extremely salty and briny, it does give hope that Mars could someday foster life.

In honor of the NASA Mars announcement, the Google logo was replaced with a sweet, short animation of the red planet. In the vignette, the planet spins around to reveal a pair of eyes and a big smile. It then takes out a cup with a straw and sucks up a glass of water. It's a cute little visual pun for the NASA Mars announcement of an important scientific discovery.
