Concert Tour Analytics

YouTube's Music Insights Tells Artists Where to Route Their Tours

YouTube is using its own analytics to help artists make a better living through a new tool appropriately dubbed Music Insights. TechCrunch writes, "It shows the cities where a musician is most popular, which of their songs are most popular, and aggregates the views of all their own videos and those uploaded by fans that feature their songs recognized by Content ID."

By doing so, YouTube's Music Insights will be able to provide artists with a rough map in which they can route their concert tours. After all, most of their revenue is made on the road, not through the video-sharing platform. Music Insights David King says, “We have a huge audience across the world for music and we want to help artists understand how their music is being consumed across that audience.”
