The 'Nomad Cape' is an innovative new hiking and camping shelter that offers as many as four different kinds of functionalities in one package, offering a degree of versatility that will ensure that backpacking enthusiasts can do more with less.
Created by Trail Hoppers, a company based in France, the 'Nomad Cape' camping shelter combines the virtues and functions of hammocks, shelters, groundsheets and rain ponchos.
In hammock mode, the sheet function can be set up between a pair of trees, with adjustable straps allowing easy setup of the hammock. Meanwhile, shelter mode requires the sheet to used in conjunction with the user's hiking poles along with included stakes, with the erstwhile hammock straps now serving as guy wires. Meanwhile, poncho mode calls for the user to place their head inside the embedded hood and utilize the side holes as sleeves, with buttons allowing the poncho to stay in place. Finally, groundsheet mode simply requires the sheet to be placed on the ground and staked down.
Available for a pledge of around $106 on Kickstarter, the 'Nomad Cape' will appeal to hikers who want to be able to enjoy asynchronous usage of four critical outdoor shelter functions.
