There’s so much that strikes viewers in these Mr.Frivolous illustrations that it’s hard to know where to begin. Every one of these pop art renderings features ultra-cool female hipsters sporting chic yet eclectic styles, beautifully rendered using markers. Mr.Frivolous retains the whiteness of his canvases for his subject’s skin, but he also defines value using blue and yellow ink, mimicking shadows and glare with the two primary colors.
Setting the females of his illustrations aside, Mr.Frivolous’ art also stands out due to his inclusion of cryptic text. Though it looks like sketch notes and often narrates things that are seemingly unconnected with his pictures, they’re still an integral part of each composition. It also ensures that viewers take their time to examine each illustration as it’s nearly impossible to ignore the bite-sized phrases on each image.
