The Motonari Ono Spring 2013 Collection Showcases Novel Runway Antics

The Motonari Ono Spring 2013 collection showcased an entirely new approach to displaying a runway collection.

Models were clad in mini-peplum detailing garments as they strutted down the catwalk carrying the torsos of mannequins. The torsos were showcasing the novel designs by Ono that composed his Spring 2013 line. Garments were highly feminine with romantic references such as ruffles, lace and tiered textiles. The palette chosen by Motonari Ono was one of muted neutrals with bursts of red and mustard yellow.

With this novel approach to a runway show, the designer breaks boundaries in efficiency. He was able to showcase a vast amount of garments from his collection with this use of mannequins whilst making himself stand out form other designers that take a more conventional approach to their catwalk antics.
