Photographer Alena Gaponova relinquished creative control to her mother when she allowed her to photographer her in this mother-daugher exclusive on C-Heads.
It can be hard to step in front of the lens, especially when you're used to being the one calling the shots. To her credit, Gaponova makes a wonderful subject. Though I'm sure that Gaponova's experience as a photographer has informed her style of posing, the girl really does seem like a natural.
Gaponova was curious to see how her mother, Olga Molodova, saw her; specifically, as a woman, and not as a photographer. Recounting the experience, Gaponova notices that she reverts to a childlike version of herself when she's in her mother's company. The spontaneous, innocent and trustful energy is faithfully captured in this touching series.
