Ily is the name of a modern family phone that is user-friendly for toddlers and grandparents alike. It addresses the need to keep in touch with loved ones in an easy and effortless way. Since landlines are a dying breed and Skype is still considered complicated by those unfamiliar with computers, this modern family phone steps in as a bridge between the two.
It was developed by New York-based startup Insensi. Tech Crunch reports that the modern family phone "has an 8-inch touchscreen, a camera, a microphone, a speaker, proximity sensors as well as temperature and quality of air sensors. There is also a separate handset for voice calls." It will work with iPhone and Android apps for those who don't have an Ily.
