MOCAD - The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit - opened its doors in Midtown, Detroit on October 26th, 2006. This spot is sure to build upon Detroit's already incredible art scene. Check out this flick of the opening night.
Implications - Considering that there is an ever-growing community of contemporary artists, the opportunity of creating spaces where they can congregate to showcase their talents arises. Society today needs to encourage and support the next generation of creative thinkers to avoid having them turn into uninspired and unmotivated people. There is also the opportunity to create some revenue from visitors, who will flock to these places if a strong creative community begins to thrive.
