The view from above the Mist-o Trunk stool and side table is one that reveals a lovely tree-ringed timber top. The warm wood grain surface has been cut into a perfect square but remains as inviting as a true smoothed stump.

But a delightful illusion is achieved in the odd objects that's attributed to the use of transparent acrylic panels. A rectangular box was constructed to form the base of the furnishing so that each lumber block looks like it might just be floating. It doesn't always, but this marriage of synthetic and organic materials appears to work practically and aesthetically with a whimsical harmony. The Mist-o Trunk table and seating object would be an endearing addition to a minimalist space.
