WEDGE Presents the Mise En Abyme Installation

— June 19, 2025 — Art & Design
WEDGE's Mise en Abyme installation presents a thought-provoking convergence of digital design methodologies and psychological spatial experience during Copenhagen's 3daysofdesign festival. This experimental exhibition recontextualizes the Epoch 2 furniture collection, which was originally conceived for an Alpine hotel, within an atmospheric domestic setting at the Lapidarium of Kings. There, projected fragments from Alain Resnais' Last Year at Marienbad interact with computationally designed furnishings. The result is an immersive environment that challenges conventional perceptions of material permanence and domestic stability. To bring Mise en Abyme to life, WEDGE employed LIDAR scanning and digital modeling techniques to create objects that hover between physical presence and ephemeral illusion.

This avant-garde presentation will particularly engage consumers interested in the philosophical dimensions of contemporary design. The installation's innovative blending of cinematic narrative with tangible objects offers a unique perspective on how digital processes are reshaping our relationship with physical spaces and artifacts.
