If you've got time and are up for a challenge, this DIY minimalist cement clock would be worth your time. South Korean blogger Design Hobby takes beautiful and easy-to-follow photographs of the process. The simple design is a chic touch for the modern home or office.
This do-it-yourself project requires much patience and attention to detail, as it works with tracing, cutting and pasting a cylindrical plastic mold for the concrete to be poured in. It also involves clockwork, which doesn't exactly come easy to everyone.
This blogger definitely has a way with cement -- previously, several other stunning minimalist projects have been demonstrated, including the tetra-pod candle holders, paperclip-attracting egg magnets and stackable tea light holders. Concrete serves as a good material for table toppers because it is durable and not flimsy or light.
