Flamingos are not a common design inspiration but were referenced with the aesthetic of this minimal tea set by Roxanne Flick.
The tea set consists of soft pastel hues of gray and pink -- both colors similar to the ones seen on the bright pink birds. The designer was interested in the animal and curious about its method of eating by filtering food out of water and created this tea set as a result. The teapot comes in the shape and color of a flamingo, the dispensers were inspired by flamingo chicks and the cups were inspired by flamingo's eggs. Each of these items sits atop oak holders.
While it would have been easy for the designer to produce an over-the-top product due to her unusual inspiration, this minimal tea set remains sophisticated and elegant.
