Designers Do Battle On the Runway for Fall 2009

— April 26, 2009 — Fashion
Designers are taking it back to the front lines this fall with military-inspired menswear.

Everyone from Burberry to D & G and John Galliano have featured heavily-structured jackets with a Victorian twist to create this hot men's fashion phenomenon for Fall 2009.

WWII and French Navy officers were Burberry’s biggest inspiration, manifested in tailored jackets and two-toned pea coats. Other designers such as D & G have instead taken to embroidered patterns which are in turn inspired by old military designs.

History is making a comeback this fall, so don’t forget about your combat boots and lots of leather!
