The high cost of medication and the risk of side effects are barriers that discourage people from investing in treatments that could benefit their health, leading Noom to launch The Microdose GLP-1Rx Program. Priced at $199 to start, followed by $199 per month, the program includes medication, if prescribed, and Noom's GLP-1 Companion for clinical care, coaching and supporting healthy habits.
As it stands, the majority of patients on standardized protocols experience side effects. "In the Microdose GLP-1Rx Program, we set out to virtually eliminate side effects for the vast majority, so that more than 70% of people would encounter no side effects," explained Dr. Jeffrey Egler, Chief Medical Officer at Noom.
Noom's protocol uses doses that are 25% or less of standard maintenance doses, and according to Noom's data, members on microdoses are far less likely to have destabilizing side effects—and still achieve results.
