Spanish design imprint WOW Design creates the Melange collection, which is a series of ceramic tiles that are meant to be paired together and create painterly ombre visuals. The studio shares the mindset behind the designs, noting “We wanted to bring the essence of textiles to the walls. A big tapestry in the style of a work of art that encircles our living spaces.”
The designers' attention was drawn to the various types of yarn and dyes of tapestries that fuse in a gentle manner from one hue to the next. Melange blends art and technology together to create the same effect indoors -- all of the pieces are made with a white ceramic body to allow the light tonal glazes to pop in contrast.
