NVIDIA recently acquired SwtiftStack, which is an organization that runs a data management system. The CPO of the newly purchased company, Joe Arnold, released a statement, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to work with the talented folks at NVIDIA and look forward to contributing to its world-leading accelerated computing solutions.” Arnold also stated that SwiftStack technology is already being used in NVIDIA's GPU and AI operations.
SwiftStack also has a history working on AI support systems, including working with high-level computing systems, as well as accelerated computing workloads, which was an enticing factor for NVIDIA. The two companies did not indicate the exact price of the acquisition.
Overall the purchase appears to be mutually beneficial for both organizations.
