'Magic Hands' Highlights Karen Walker's Jewelry on Older Women

The 'Magic Hands' photography series by Ari Seth Cohen highlights manual jewelry from the Karen Walker Jewelry line. But rather than going the tradition route and capturing Walker's rings on disembodied hands, Walker chose to accentuate the elegance, class, and timeless style of her jewelry on the hands of elderly women from nearby in California.

According to Cohen, the photographer, hands can tell stories, sometimes even more than faces can. In Magic Hands, the story is one of adventure and luxury. The women in the series were both show business professionals, having danced in the Ballet Russes and in West Side Story on Broadway.

Walker's jewelry collection reflects that adventure, with playful and intricate rings that look excellent on the hands in the images.
