Qatar Airways is launching a 10,000 square meter exclusive terminal for first class passengers. The terminal features spa treatment rooms, saunas, and other luxury amenities. Akbar Al Baker, the CEO of Qatar Airways stated, "We lacked a facility offering world-class services to our premium passengers. As the number of passengers in our business and first class increases with the arrival of new and larger carriers, we want to offer them the best available services."
Implications - Due to the recovery of the economic crisis, consumers that are positively affected by the upswing are looking to indulge. Buyers are no longer affected by this need to save, and are more willing to invest in luxurious items. Businesses can take advantage of this new desire by creating more luxury items and branding.
