Vogue Victorian Era Editorials

The Love No. 12 Fall/Winter 2014 Ribbons Photoshoot is Retro

The Love No. 12 Fall/Winter 2014 Ribbons editorial offers a chic throwback to the Victorian era. Stylist Panos Yiapanis dressed models Adriana Lima and Christy Turlington in conservative outfits, making them appear much like women did during the early 20th century.

Famed photography duo Inez and Vinoodh captured both Lima and Turlington for Ribbons. Despite their placement together, they were each photographed separately, placing individual focus upon the women who are at the fore of the fashion industry.

Evident retro motifs stemmed from curly, overblown hair and ruffled apparel. Bonnets, veils and head scarves point to a time when it was appropriate to cover up, especially while in public. At the same time, Yiapanis made the set come across as remarkably funky with eccentric patterns and neon colors.
