Artist Victor Solomon designed a captivating reconstructed basketball with ceramic materials to add to his 'Literally Balling' series. The special basketball iteration is coined the 'Moonshot VS.004'. This luxurious piece uses an ancient Japanese practice of ceramic repair technique called 'Kintsugi'. This highlights the imperfect vessels by re-joining it together with gold dust, porcelain, and resin -- this highlights the cracked areas and reconstructs it as formative parts of the 'broken' object's history. The Moonshot VS.004 is created in collaboration with ceramicist Brock Deboer.
The latest addition to the Literally Balling series measures at 9" throughout its diameter and is limited down to only 33 pieces. It is now available for purchase online at Literally Balling for the price of $2,499 USD each.
