Lizzo's children's book Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin’ is a picture book inspired by the artist’s early experiences learning the flute. The story follows a young girl who struggles to fit in and a lively flute character who cannot find her tune. Together, they go on a journey that explores friendship, confidence, and self-expression. The book is illustrated by Mark Pett and published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, with a release scheduled for September 2026.

The new book includes a QR code that links to an original song created by Lizzo specifically for the project. The narrative draws from her background as a trained flautist and incorporates musical elements into the storytelling. The illustrated format uses character-driven scenes featuring the girl and her flute across different settings.
