KUTARQ Studio, a multidisciplinary design platform based in Spain, recently introduced the GVPO lighting collection and FOLIO furniture series. The capsules embody design head Jordi López Aguiló's approach to "unique yet pragmatic [....] furniture, lighting, and objects."
Both KUTARQ Studio collections channel the natural properties of metals. While the GVPO lighting set, which is crafted from a single aluminum pipe, shows a paired-back design and an industrial aesthetic, the FOLIO collection experiments with the flexible nature of steel. The latter is transformed from a flat form to a bent paper-like structure upon assembly.
KUTARQ Studio hand-finishes and assembles each piece of the GVPO lighting and FOLIO furniture collections. It has been announced that the GVPO lamp will be on view at the Tableau Gallery CPH soon, catering to those who want to experience the piece and its metal construction in person.
