Russian computer security company Kaspersky Labs developed this jaw-dropping, beautiful and terrifying interactive 3D map that visualizes online threats and cyber security attacks occurring worldwide in real time.
Viewers can drag the 3D image of the Earth and rotate it to view cyber attack activity in different countries, and can also zoom into a specific country to see where it ranks in the cyber-danger stakes (Russia is ranked #1 while the U.S.A. is at #4).
Viewers can even see what kinds of cyber-security threats are being launched. The map shows different colored lines emerging from different spots around the globe and extending to other areas. These lines represent where different types of cyber attacks are originating from and where they are being targeted.
Kaspersky Labs hopes that this visualization will motivate people to purchase their anti-virus software products, which regularly rank among the best on the market. On the top right of the visualization, there is a button with the text 'Am I Infected?'. Viewers can click the button to access a free trial of Kaspersky Labs anti-virus software.
