If you've ever found yourself with a dead phone when the night has only just begun, then you'll love this new device from Juicebox. Juicebox, a New York-based startup founded by Adam Johnson, is a mobile charging platform that can be installed in clubs, bars, casinos, theaters and other venues to allow patrons to recharge their phones as needed.

A wall-mounted device, the Juicebox charging station comprises a color-coded locker in which people can place their gadgets to charge for a small fee of $1 or $2. To ensure your phone won't be accessed by someone other than yourself, you just use your credit card like an identification swipe key.

As for how venue owners can benefit, places with Juicebox installed have experienced increased foot traffic since people tend to return to the venue to charge their phones. In addition, Juicebox provides a fee-sharing program in which venues receive a revenue stream from the installation and use of the Juicebook station.
