In some respects, it is incredible to think of just how little art has changed in over 2000 years. When I look at these photos of James Doherty by Bell Soto, I see modernized images from painted Roman amphoras.
The exceedingly muscular male model is captured mid-motion in these snapshots, exuding all of the strength and agility of an ancient Olympian. Looking fit enough to have have run from the battle of Marathon in record time, this brawny jock has built the ideal body for himself.
The lucky observer gets to appreciate the flexing of every bulge in James Doherty by Bell Soto. With four photos rendered in a poised monochrome and two in revealing warm tones, the graceful nude form of the subject is classically attractive.
