The Dalmore has introduced The Madeira Cask Edition, a three-bottle expression produced in collaboration with Blandy’s and featuring maturation finished in Madeira pipes. Blandy’s contribution draws on its traditional production methods, including the Canteiro ageing process, and the set presents each whisky as a distinct Madeira-influenced style.
The trio comprises whiskies matured long-term in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before short Madeira finishes: a 30-year-old bottled at 49.3% ABV finished eight months in a 2010 Terrantez pipe; a 34-year-old at 44.5% ABV finished eight months in a 2018 Bual pipe; and a 45-year-old at 40.7% ABV given a three-month finish in a 2012 Malvasia pipe. Italian leather house AB Florence handcrafted ochre Saffiano packaging for the 150 sets.
The release offers layered, wine-driven flavour profiles that map Terrantez, Bual and Malvasia onto aged single malt. The priced set targets connoisseurs seeking high-end cask experimentation and curated presentation, reflecting an appetite for travel-linked maturation stories.
