The iPayPhone Yarn Bomb cleverly converts an outdated public telephone into one of the most coveted cellphones on the market: the iPhone. Unfortunately, this iPhone doesn't have any fancy capabilities besides looking good. That is because it has been fashioned out of yarn rather than metal, glass and working hardware. Of course, the symbology behind the creation will not be lost on anyone.
Created by Lorna of Knits for Life, the iPayPhone Yarn Bomb is complete with colorful depictions of popular apps including iTunes, Facebook and even Instagram. According to the artist, the iPayPhone Yarn Bomb was inspired by a similar payphone yarn bomb in solid color blocks. She reveals, "Then the idea to play with the obsolescence of pay phones occured to me." Not to mention that she hates "ugly and pointless things."
