Raphael Kadid Developed the Chic & Versatile ISU Concept

Basel-based designer and architect Raphael Kadid conceived a stunning and versatile interlinked storage unit called ISU (Interlink Storage Unit). Inspired by the iconic Eames Storage Unit (ESU), ISU showcases ingenious engineering and aesthetic elegance through its minimalist modular system. The core of ISU revolves around a pioneering bi-directional connector and sleek 20mm raw aluminum profiles. This makeup allows the unit to interlock in both vertical and horizontal orientations without pre-assembly machining. This feature boldly sets the design apart from other storage solutions on the market.

The design flexibility of the interlinked storage unit enables a wide range of configurations, seamlessly transitioning from a sophisticated shelving unit to a practical coat rack, functional ladder, or even a stylish chair. Crafted solely from aluminum and stainless steel screws, ISU is engineered to withstand diverse environments, ensuring longevity whether indoors or outdoors.
