This Instagram Yoga Getaway Celebrates Social Media and Spirituality

Since the Instagram yoga community is thriving, IG Getaway is being launched as a new event to make posting to social media just another integral part of the practice.

The name of the event, IG Getaway, stands for "Inspiration Generation" and features classes led by yogi superstars on Instagram like Laura Kasperzak, Mackenzie Miller and Irene Pappas who have either hundreds of thousands or millions of followers on the platform. The week-long IG Getaway is hosted at the Women’s Center in Santa Monica and the schedule includes events like acro yoga, meditations on the beach and in total 19 workshop classes packed into just two intense days.

Although the use of technology and social media is often frowned upon as disruptive or distracting in the practice of yoga as well as daily life, the IG Getaway shows that balance can be applied to everything.
