The Independent Designers Outlet in Toronto Carries 8 Labels

At just seven months old, IDO is thriving. Located at 1418 Dundas St. W in Toronto, the Independent Designers Outlet sits among cafes, art galleries and cake shops.

The fashion eclecticism in-store is linked by a common thread; “We only sell Canadian collections!” boasts owner Lara Stephenson. The Independent Designers Outlet is not a shop, it’s a solution. “We provide a much needed service to [local] designers by selling their old stock, which translates to amazing savings for our customers,” says Stephenson.

With eight Toronto-based labels and one from Montreal, moms and young professionals alike can enjoy hot items like 100% merino wool knit sweaters by JUMA and silk party dresses by House of Spy. Eco-conscious shoppers will woo over Stephenson’s own Revolve Clothing line which includes tops and dresses in organic cotton, lyocell, soy & bamboo for $80 and under.

As in her solutions and style, Stephenson keeps it simple. “If you appreciate quality, are interested in supporting the local fashion scene, or just love a great deal, then Independent Designers Outlet is for you!”
