TikTok recently announced that it will now offer in-app product purchases. In-app product purchases will be limited to items that have a sponsored hashtag. All purchases will be made only in the TikTok platform, and within the program with the name Hashtag Challenge Plus. With Hashtag Challange Plus, companies will now have the ability to use influencers on the platform.
Kroger was able to run the first campaign on the platform, which was its Transform Ur Dorm challenge. This hashtag now has hundreds of millions of views across different videos on the platform.
The TikTok platform is extremely popular, especially among younger demographics, meaning that advertisers can now access a previously untapped platform and market.
