After having released a home solar panel in 2013, the IKEA solar battery packs show that the Swedish home design brand is committed to more than just a clean look — it's hoping to help clean up the environment as well. The battery packs can store energy from the IKEA solar panels, further increasing the efficiency of the green system and saving consumers significant sums on their monthly bills.

According to the company, the IKEA solar battery packs can save consumers up to 70 percent on their energy bills. That's because the solar panels themselves not only eliminate the need to pull energy from the grid, but the battery packs can store the excess energy generated during sunny days and recycle it to other times (like during the night or throughout overcast days.) This means that consumers can cut back from the urban grid even further than if they had panels alone.
