The Idea International Chimney is a high-end home humidifier that mocks the design of industrial smokestacks.
It is a common sight to see a sizeable group of smokestacks protruding out of a factory operation. Out of these manufacturing columns billow a steady stream of noxious smoke. Many a photographer have captured these sights for use on environmental campaign ads or for raising public awareness and it is certainly an effective tactic.
Takeshi Ishiguro, a designer for IDEA International has related this sad corporate phenomenon to a more mundane and beneficial one that is found in our own homes. Using the same chimney design, he has fashioned a luxury humidifier that can -- for once -- act as the center of attention as a design masterpiece instead of environmental faux-pas.
