HomeShare is a housing marketplace that connects individuals in the urban environment to create affordable housing experiences across all stages -- from the apartment and housemate search to the move-in and ongoing residency. CEO Jeff Pang is dedicated to providing a largely community-centric approach to accommodation. When the housing marketplace was first launched he lived in every building. "For that first year, [he] toured and moved in [the] first 100 Homies as they became [his] next door neighbors." Jeff shares the variety of individuals that HomeShare has attracted over the years -- "a local middle-school teacher, a traveling Stanford nurse and a nonprofit communications manager." This highlights the flexibility and overall appeal of HomeShare. Moreover, on the diversity of demographic he comments that it "instilled in [him] a responsibility and desire to expand [the] service to help more individuals find attractive housing."
The affordable housing marketplace partners with luxury building communities and leverages their existing infrastructure to be more appealing to a larger audience. For its fifth market in Los Angeles, HomeShare partners with Next on Sixth and continuous to "provide a service that enables motivated individuals the opportunity to thrive together."
