Holographic AR Messaging Apps

Beem Recently Raised $4 Million to Launch an Eponymous Messaging App

Beem, a London start-up focused on AR, recently announced the launch of its new holographic AR messaging app dubbed 'Beem.' In addition, the company announced it raised four million dollars from five venture capital firms, including Ascension Ventures, Grouport Ventures, Inertia Ventures, and Lior Messika's personal fund.

With the app, users can create AR video messages or Livestream in 3D using the rear camera of their smartphone. There is currently no two-way functionality, but CEO Janosch Amstutz says it is on the horizon. As of now, Beem's mobile app offers two-way audio group calls for up to 25 people, as well as live streams in AR. Message length is limited to fifteen seconds due to file size limitations. WebAR lets the recipient watch your hologram as it is projected into their real-life environment, without having to download an app.
