The syringe features a collapsible design that is made with only one kind of material called FlexiOH UV, which is a heat-durable silicone variety. Medication can be easily added in through the vacuum loading inlet before pressing the origami-like structure to administer all of a medication or vaccine with ease.

The 'Helix' syringe is the design work of Daniel López Velasco and Ithzel Libertad Cerón López, and is rated to reduce the size and material needed for conventional syringes and their needles by 30%.
