'Hamilton,' the hugely popular 2016 Broadway musical about the life and times of US politician Alexander Hamilton, has made a massive impact on the droves of fans who've seen the show. Now, the musical has impacted two people's lives in a concrete and material way, as a man by the name of Elijah Essa used songs from the play to stage a theatrical engagement proposal for his now-fiancee Sarah Burnett.
Rather than proposing to Burnett at a staging of Hamilton, Essa decided to take matters into his own hands. With the help of a dancer friend, they taught choreography to more than 20 of both Burnett and Essa's friends, before putting on a shortened version of the show. At the end of a song, one of the performers pulled Burnett on stage and Essa got down on one knee and showed her the ring.
