GU Announced its First Collab with ENGINEERED GARMENTS

— November 20, 2025 — Marketing
GU announced its inaugural collaboration with the New York–based fashion label ENGINEERED GARMENTS, with the limited-edition collection set to release at the GU SOHO store and online on Friday, December 5.

Founded in New York by the Japan-based retailer NEPENTHES and guided by designer Daiki Suzuki, ENGINEERED GARMENTS is recognized for its modern reinterpretations of classic American workwear and military garments. Its emphasis on precise construction and thoughtful functionality aligns closely with GU’s approach to accessible, design-driven everyday apparel.

Titled 'Manhattanism,' the collaboration presents five exclusive pieces inspired by the cultural energy of 1970s New York. GU’s essential silhouettes are reimagined through ENGINEERED GARMENTS’ signature aesthetic, expressed through deep navy tones and refined detailing. The range includes "padded outerwear with weather-resistant properties, a heavyweight heathered sweatshirt, a cable-knit shawl-collar cardigan with subtle textural accents, and a pullover-like fleece jacket featuring a concealed front opening," all reflecting a shared commitment to craftsmanship and utility.
