Plumed Paper Sculptures

The Great Omar Peacock is Stunningly Intricate and Elegant

The Great Omar Peacock looks like it was sculpted out of precious metals rather than paper. In fact, if we go down this road, it looks more like a real peacock than a fake one. Stunningly intricate and elegant, this sculpture was inspired by "the cover of 'The Great Omar,' a collection of Persian poems known as the most precious volume ever bound," according to its designers.

Handcrafted by The Makerie, the name which Julie Wilkinson and Joyanne Horscroft work under, the Great Omar Peacock was created for London paper merchants Shepherds Bookbinders. Wilkinson and Horscroft used papers from their range to produce it, and it is currently being displayed in the company's Holborn location store.
