These doodles visually represent the findings of a Google diversity report released earlier this week. The company's first report was a groundbreaking move in the tech industry, but the statistics showed a mostly white male workforce.
Google often uses illustrations on its homepage to raise awareness about the plight of marginalized people. During the Sochi 2014 Olympics for example, the rainbow sport-showcasing logo stood up for gay athletes. In this vein, software designer and developer Matt Stempeck created mock ups of the search engine logo and turned them into infographics depicting the Google diversity shortcomings.
Despite the dismaying diversity statistics, transparency is the first step towards making positive changes and working towards equality in the workplace.
