GoodPop Fruit Sours Have a Patent-Pending Sour Candy Coating

— May 6, 2026 — Lifestyle
The GoodPop Fruit Sours are a new product innovation from the better-for-you frozen treat brand that plays on the continued popularity of sour candy in a decidedly more healthful way.

The ice pops feature a real fruit recipe that's frozen into single-serve pieces that are then covered in a patent-pending sour candy coating. This coating achieves a distinct taste and texture as a nod to sour candy, but in a more permissible way. The product will come in Green Apple & Lemonade and Cherry & Melon flavor options, which each have three-grams of sugar per serving to position them as far lower than alternatives on the market.

Founder and CEO Daniel Goetz spoke on the GoodPop Fruit Sours saying, "I’m thrilled to introduce Fruit Sours, which bring a brand new experience to the line. Sour is everywhere (and a personal favorite), so we’re proud to offer the first sour pop made with real fruit and less added sugar. Our goal at GoodPop is to bring innovation into the frozen category while meeting our very high nutrition and ingredient standards. Our proprietary sour candy coating brings an added layer of whimsy and delight to a rapidly rising category and I can’t wait for people to try them.”
