The Arccos Golf start-up may have begun as a humble start-up, but it has officially hit the big time with the announcement that its product will be sold in Apple stores.
Arccos Golf develops weightless sensors for golf clubs; these sensors use GPS to track an assortment of data including distance hit, club averages, driving accuracy and so on. Users can access data about their game on a companion mobile app or on their computer.
Crucially, Arccos Golf's products come in minimalist packaging and bear simplistic sensors, something in tune with Apple's own design philosophy and no doubt one of the reasons why it made it into Apple's stores. The products' developers consciously approached their design projects as if their products were already part of Apple's repertoire, and this single-minded focus has led to their product successfully infiltrating Apple's lucrative stores.
