Global Guitar Searches

Gibson x Michael J. Fox Launch s Search for Lost Back to the Future Guitar

Gibson x Michael J. Fox have teamed up to launch a worldwide search for the original Cherry Red Gibson ES-345 guitar famously played by Fox’s character, Marty McFly, during the iconic 'Enchantment Under the Sea' scene in 'Back to the Future.' The guitar, which vanished after filming, is now the subject of an international campaign titled 'Lost to the Future,' supported by a forthcoming documentary. The search aims to recover what many consider the most influential guitar in cinematic history -- a symbol that has inspired generations of musicians, from John Mayer to Chris Martin.

As part of the initiative, fans are encouraged to submit tips via LostToTheFuture.com or a dedicated hotline. The documentary will also feature new interviews with Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and Huey Lewis, capturing the cultural impact of the 1985 blockbuster and its unforgettable soundtrack moment.
