CPC & PFC Debut IGNITE the Light Virtual Seats Initiative

The Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) and the Paralympic Foundation of Canada (PFC) have launched the IGNITE the Light virtual seats fundraising initiative. This campaign aims to raise $1 million by selling 40,000 virtual seats at $25 each from July 9 to September 8, 2024, to support Paralympic athletes. As the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games approach, Canadians are encouraged to purchase virtual seats, symbolizing their support for the nation's Paralympic team. Donors will receive a customized graphic of their virtual seat to share on social media, which will serve to promote national pride and encouragement.

Karen O'Neill, CEO of the CPC, emphasized that the fundraising initiative allows Canadians to be part of the Paralympic Movement: "For years, Canadians have told us how much they are behind the Canadian Paralympic Team. This is their chance to showcase that support to ensure our athletes have the essential resources they need for years to come to achieve their dreams and to showcase the power of inclusivity in sport."
