Epic Games Debuts Fortnite Ballistic, a Tactical FPS Mode

Epic Games has unveiled Fortnite Ballistic, a new addition to its blockbuster battle royale game, Fortnite. This new mode, described as a “first-person Fortnite experience,” reinvents the familiar universe as a five-versus-five tactical shooter. Drawing inspiration from competitive giants like VALORANT and Counter-Strike, Fortnite Ballistic merges team-based play with a plant/defuse the bomb-style objective.

Launching in early access on December 11, the mode retains its connection to Fortnite’s broader ecosystem. However, certain elements like pickaxes, vehicles, and contrails will not feature in this mode, signaling a more focused and competitive gameplay design.

Fortnite Ballistic’s initial offering includes a single map, a curated arsenal of weapons, and a range of innovative gadgets designed to deepen strategic play. Players can wield assault rifles, snipers, and shotguns while leveraging gadgets such as shields, frag grenades, and proximity mines to gain tactical advantages.
