Forgotten Flowers by L’Occitane en Provence Revives Neglected Plants

Rose, jasmine and lavender are some of the most popular flowers that reign supreme in fragrances and Forgotten Flowers by L’Occitane en Provence is a collection that dares to explore lesser-known blooms, offering an enchanting olfactory journey beyond the conventional.

Back in 2015, the brand committed to supporting researcher Anne-Sophie Bouville's thesis on Forgotten Perfume Plants and the project culminated with a patent, three scientific publications, and a collection of perfumes that revisit flowers that have been forgotten in the world of perfumery.

While Noble Épine is a soft floral perfume with notes of creamy almond that came to fruition by using fresh flower absolute, Melilot used an infusion technique rather than the absolute of the flower. Rounding out the Forgotten Flowers collection, Barbotine turned the plant's essential oil into perfume.
